Dr. Mehedi Hasan is a dedicated physician and public health professional, currently serving as a Senior Medical Officer at Uttarbanga Eye Hospital. He specializes in Ophthalmology and Diabetes Care, with a strong focus on community-based preventive and promotive health services.
He completed his MBBS from Rangpur Community Medical College under Rajshahi University and has successfully completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a major in Community Medicine. His professional interests include childhood vision disorders, prevention of avoidable blindness, chronic disease prevention, and community health education.
Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Mehedi Hasan has actively contributed to academic training and public health research. He previously served as a Medical Officer at Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital and worked as a Research Physician in a collaborative research project conducted at Rangpur Medical College Hospital, jointly organized by the Toxicology Society of Bangladesh and University of Edinburgh.
He also provided extensive community-based eye care services as a Medical Officer at Khanjanpur Samajik Shastho Sheba Kendra and worked at SKS Eye Hospital under the Prevention of Avoidable Blindness (P.A.B.) Project, funded by Andheri-Hilfe Bonn.
